At a minimum receiving massage once a month is a good start. However, once every two weeks is better. In some cases, receiving massage once a week or more may be indicated, especially in the case of clients who have had recent physical trauma.
“Tension is who you think you should be. Relaxation is who you are”
words of wisdom
Trigger Point techniques apply deep pressure to the contracted knots in muscle tissue. Releasing these knots in any muscle will drastically reduce tension in that muscle and also reflexively reduce muscle tension through-out the body. Deep Tissue massage and Trigger Point Therapy will help the body to recover from injury far quicker than with conventional massage and also help to correct postural imbalances from long term holding patterns, joint immobility and scar tissue.
Deep Tissue Massage and Trigger Point Therapy works on the deeper layers of body tissue and muscle fibres to work out areas of tension and 'trigger' points, which are often what we refer to as 'knots'. These areas of tension or 'knots' have been starved of vital blood supply, oxygen and nutrients, which create the aches and pains we often feel, in areas such as our backs, shoulders, legs and arms. Deep Tissue Massage and Trigger Point Therapy massage can sometimes feel a little uncomfortable due to the deeper level of work being carried out. I will regularly check with you & only work to your level of comfort.
